We are looking for a Electronics R&D Engineer to join our Industrial Systems team

We are looking for a team member – a SpinDriver – to drive product development in
electronics and hardware design. This is a full-time position based in either Helsinki or
Lappeenranta, Finland. The role is primarily on-site to support hands-on R&D, but we value flexibility and offer the option of remote work when project activities make it possible.

The job is located in Helsinki or Lappeenranta. You will report to the Hardware Team Lead.

  • Coordinate and execute hardware and electronics development projects
  • Take products from prototype to volume manufacturing
  • Manage product certifications and testing
  • Work with external manufacturers and design partners
  • Drive design iterations (schematics, PCB, component library, BOM)
  • Validate designs through lab testing
  • Create and maintain hardware design documentation
  • Work with customers to support, troubleshoot, and analyze performance in real industrial environments
  •  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  •  Strong track record in schematic design, PCB layout, manufacturing documentation, and PCB(A) production, with at least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of analog, high-speed digital, and power electronics design
  • Ability to plan and run hardware testing in the lab
  • Experience with electrical safety and certification processes (CE/UL/marine)
  • Understanding of EMC design and testing
  • Hands-on experience with Altium Designer / Altium 365 (a plus)
  • Bonus: experience in multidisciplinary design (thermal, ECAD/MCAD, etc.)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

You will begin by learning SpinDrive’s active magnetic bearing solution and our core system – the Magma ® controller. From there, you’ll work on hardware development projects, owning the electronic product journey from prototype to volume production. This includes design iterations, validation through lab testing, and collaboration with external partners.
